CNBC reports (http://www.cnbc.com/id/31494763) that Steve Jobs has indeed returned to work at Apple today. His return had been suggested (http://www.macrumors.com/2009/06/22/over-one-million-iphone-3g-models-sold-on-launch-weekend/) as he was attributed a quote for Apple's press release today about the iPhone 3GS sales. Jim Goldman of CNBC, however, is able to confirm his presence on Apple's campus according to multiple employees.Meantime, we still await official word from Apple, but employees are confirming this. The news is solid. Jobs is back in the house, at least for today. This would fulfill his original promise to return to Apple in June, but with the recent report about his medical condition (http://www.macrumors.com/2009/06/20/steve-jobs-had-a-liver-transplant-two-months-ago/) he may only be back in a limited fashion.

The go to apple and wish him well, because he is not going to get the message...believe it or not, I doubt he checks this website.

He doesn't but I wouldn't be shocked if there isn't someone from Apple watching this and similar sites. Looking to see what the feedback and rumors are, watching for folks leaking info that only employees would know and shouldn't be talking about (You can bet they all have a 'keep your mouth shut' degree as part of their work rules)

Because now we know for sure that he is getting better because he is now able to work again.

yeah cause part of his medical leave was to deal with his brain not functioning. just because he wasn't on campus doesn't mean he wasn't working. he could still think and talk and it is even money he had a nice tricked out laptop with a snazzy webcam and email access etc. he could attend Board meetings in his bed if he wanted

Hats off for that! Again - most Apple people remind me of the Simpson parody - Mapple where they discuss their beloved leader and founder Steve Mobs. Funny stuff, indeed and like all satire it is firmly grounded in the truth.

I AM glad he is feeling well enough to return to work but believe it or not, Apple will continue and may actually prosper without Mr. Jobs.

I was put in time-out for a comment not NEARLY as rude and dis-respectful as that post - what gives? Learn to be understanding of those who dissent and not so angry - that is the problem with the world today. The quoted poster actually made a lot of sense, to me anyway, with his comments. He was abl to do that without using silly and crude language. You should try it - it is called civil English - used to construct rational and reasonable discourse.

http://i485.photobucket.com/albums/rr214/TheDavidFrom1988/minesweeper1.png

It opens fine, you just can't "win." :D

I rated this thread positive but I can't help but wonder (since Steve is so controlling) if the 13" MBP would've gotten such a nice upgrade if Steve had any say in it? It's just so interesting that an SD card slot FINALLY appeared on a Mac after Steve takes a break.

Ugh...I really hope that retarded SD slot just *goes away*. He can leave FireWire though...

For God's sake, why do we still even have integrated graphics in the year 2009? I have never, ever used my MBP's 9400M.

Por favor, 2GB QuadroFX por mi MacBook Pro, Seņor Jobs... :)

Sad to see that so many people think that making juvenile comments about someone at Microsoft is the right way to honor Steve Jobs' return to work at Apple.

They must be really, really scared about Windows 7....

You are so right, we need to honor glorious leaders return. First, we will fast for 30 iDays to honor glorious leaders return, so we might grow closer to his reduced weight. Next, we will kill a virgin porcupine to honor glorious leaders return. Finally, we will dance naked around a burning pile of Windows ME disk to show glorious leader how he has single handedly smited the evil Microsoft.

Will that due to honor his return?

So the guy in charge -- who's health news can make stock rise and fall by a single rumour/annoucement -- who lied to you last Fall about having a "chemical imbalance" in "absorbing nutrients", taking a leave of absence in which he got a liver transplant and didn't tell anyone before it or after it for an entire two months (probably because someone had discovered it and was going to tell the world), is now back at work.

Wow, you people must either be true fanboys, stock owners or BOTH!

I'd like to see Bill Gates do that before he left and see what would happen over here.

So pleased to here the old Apple dog is doing well. :)

This, as qouted on the BBC news website made me laugh, sounds a bit O.T.T -

Reuters news agency quoted sources saying Mr Jobs "was seen leaving the main Apple building in Cupertino and getting into a black car alone that was driven off by men in black suits with ear-pieces."

It was quite likely a complication which was associated with his health condition. Incidentally, had BG done the same before he abandoned ship, more than likely few people would have even cared, one way or the other.

What he said makes perfect sense — all this extreme fanboyism is very disturbing.

Don't get me wrong, I'm glad that he's getting back into the swing of things...but not b/c he's Steve Jobs, but rather because I don't wish bad on anyone.

That said, why does everyone on the forum act like they actually care? Like it has any sort of effect on you whatsoever? Like he gives 2 ***** about anyone on this forum. It just blows my mind how people act as if they know him, what he is thinking, how he feels about what Apple has done. As I've seen over and over again, nobody on this forum has a clue on what apple is thinking or Steve Jobs for that matter, so don't act like you do.

Steve Jobs is back, great, good for him...why will this thread be 200 posts long within an hour though????

Off my rant

These people, including me, have been impacted positively by Apple over the years. And the "leader" was ill now well again. So why wouldn't Apple supporters wish him well?!? It doesn't matter if he checks macrumors forums or not. It's more the sentiment of the moment than a physical handing someone a get-well card.

I hope your loved ones don't treat you so callously if you're ever ill.

Jim Goldman of CNBC, however, is able to confirm his presence on Apple's campus according to multiple employees. This would fulfill his original promise to return to Apple in June, but with the recent report about his medical condition (http://www.macrumors.com/2009/06/20/steve-jobs-had-a-liver-transplant-two-months-ago/) he may only be back in a limited fashion.

Article Link: Steve Jobs Back at Work at Apple (http://www.macrumors.com/2009/06/22/steve-jobs-back-at-work-at-apple/)

Of course it doesn't sit well here:

1 - This is MacRumors, not Windows SuperSite; we "fanboys" don't waste our time bashing Microsoft outside these realms; we are absolutely legitimized to defend the platform we prefer, either via this website or other Mac-centered areas;

2 - Aiden's eternally-biased wikipedia-powered contributions have never recognized any achievement by Apple, especially given that, as a non-user, he has no clue about the Mac experience. Therefore, it's not about "correcting" Apple fanboys, it's about trolling with neverending diatribes against anything that is released by Cupertino. Well, actually it might even be amusing: John C. Dvorak's enlightened op-ed comments were, too, a lot of fun back in the olden days of MacUser.

Meh....

Now the tens of thousands of Apple employees who actually make it happen won't be noticed - the spotlight is back on the Lord God Jobs.

Sigh....

Cheap shot. Wow...so anyone who gains any level of public visibility or accomplishment has done so with the aid of others, to greater or lesser degrees. Who would have thought? Every CEO, every athlete, every politician, every advocate for every cause, including you and me. Of course some people might just have had more to do with their own success than others. Are you part of the great unwashed and un-or-under appreciated? Feeling like there should be a rise from the proletariat or something? Maybe Apple could have a "You're really special" day for each employee. And maybe designate a Stuart Smalley Self-Affirmation Quiet Zone.

Geez Aiden, lighten up.

Yes, we like Apple products, but we shouldn’t “defend” them with cheap shots at other companies and saying APPLE IS THE BEST! THEY ARE THE PERFECT COMPANY! GO APPLE! I feel that we should instead list their advantages and acknowledge their disadvantages if we want to inform people about Apple products. We should also criticise Apple when they do something wrong instead of mindlessly cheering for and defending them.

Unfortunately, a lot of Apple users seem to prefer defending their favourite company the other way: "Apple is the best and you are an idiot for using [insert company name here]’s products."

Hell, jokes like that of any person of important is immature. It'd be like me critzing Jobs for denying he had a daughter in the past. Cause that may be a TINY bit more worrisome than someone who sweats.
