Your best Photoshop plug-ins?

I have been playing around with too many PS plug-ins that I care to remember, but the ones that I think are the best are these...

Kodak's ROC (Restoration of Color)

Kodak's GEM (Grain Equalization & Management)

I'm still undecided between Focal Blade's plug-in for sharpening, or Pixel Genius' Photo Kit Sharpener.

While no plug-in is perfect, I find that the above do an outstanding job and save me an enormous amount of time.

FWIW I much preferred Noiseware to Noise Ninja for noise reduction. And I have a small preference for Kodak's GEM as I feel that it softens the photos marginally less, while producing virtually identical results.

I bought the complete collection from Nik for Aperture and I’ve gotten amazing results with their various filters and correction profile. I would highly recommend those if you are looking at investing in a set of programs.

I have tried the trial versions of Nik DFine (for noise reduction) and Nik Sharpener Pro, but I preferred the results from the aforementioned plug-ins.

Having used Viveza from Nik, I couldn't go without it. It gives color control using control point functionality to PS. I believe it's similar to the control points in Capture NX, although I've never actually tried NX...

Ha ha, this is turning into a Nik fanclub thread! I've recently bought the complete collection for Aperture too and am loving it. Will get the set for Photoshop at some point as I'm finding times when being able to blend layers would be very handy.

Re: Cutsman - Capture NX uses (licenses) the same U-point system, but it's such a slow program. I've never used Camera Control Pro which looks like it could be rather useful but comes at quite a price (sorry, off topic - not a plug-in).

I am definitely in for the Siver Effects Pro. By Far my favourite plug-in.

I use DFine as well, but I am not completely satisfied with it, nor do I like Noise Ninja. I guess I'll keep looking for some noise reduction software I will actually like.

Onone has some good stuff as well...you just have to be patient with their wonky UI is all. Of note is their Fractals app which in of itself is worth the price of admission.

I highly recommend Kodak's GEM plug-in for noise reduction. Out of the various NR plug-ins that I have tried, I think that it gives the best results with the least amount of softening and loss of detail.

FWIW their plug-in site is ASF.com because these plug-ins were developed by Applied Science Fiction, and were subsequently bought out by Kodak.

Now would be a good time to note that Nik is one of the two main designers of Capture NX. If you use Nikon, you'd do well to use NX 2 in some form, even if it's just for conversions.
