Don't be paranoid, its only two cases on here so far, that's not significant enough at the moment.. and as you can see they are only macbook pro's so stop worrying.. for now :D

I think you're blowing this out of proportion. If you're that worried about it, only use the charger when you're sitting in front of your computer so you can watch it, and fully unplug it from the wall if you're away.

If you're that worried get a MagSaver.

chance of burning MagSafe = chance of burning a Dell adaptor = chance of burning Sony adaptor = chance of burning...etc. These problems are not isolated to only Apple.

Luckily my power adapter died before any of that could happen!
And even better, Apple replaced the charger for free with an updated (smaller) version!
I wouldn't be at all paranoid...

You could always get measured for an Apple iSuit.

Why bother with an iSuit, just tell them their going to get iSued if they don't fix it.
(It's an American Tradition! ;))

This feedback suggests that meltdowns are not that infrequent.

Actually I saw lot of melting things on the feedback for the MacBook pro one but I looked through like 20 on the MacBook and I didn't see any...

Yay right, this affects all computer makers. At least Apple hasn't burned anyones house down yet like Dell.

if people are saying that it's b/c the wires inside the insulation is getting shorted, then just be careful about not twisting and bending the cord too much
