SCVD Help!!! How do I play it.

My 15in imac refuses to play a burned SVCD movie..... does anyone out there know what to do? Also........is there apeice of software I can download to bypass the region locking?

I'm not an expert, but a quick search shows that there aren't really any good options right now to play SVCDs on a Mac. VLC Media Player (http://www.videolan.org/) would have been my recommendation, but their SVCD support is currently incomplete.

There is a shareware program called MacVCD X (http://www.mireth.com/pub/mxme.html), but you would need to pay $19.95 to unlock the full-featured player and another $19.95 for the QuickTime 6 MPEG2 Playback Component (http://www.apple.com/quicktime/products/mpeg2playback/).

If it's a straight-through disc without menus or any other hierarchy, then it should play fine.
