Call of Duty 4 Laggy Performance

I recently purchased call of duty 4 on my macbook...
It runs fine at times but occasionally it will get extremely laggy.
Another thing I am having problem with is when I look through the scope on any guy i'm using the screen gets blurry.

I have a black macbook
2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
2 GB 667 MHz DDR2 SDRam

Does anyone have any suggestions as to how I can make this game run smoother?

Realistically, get a better computer. Sans that, drop your graphics as low as possible.

Also, if it's not a sniper rifle, when you're aiming down iron sights (or through something else) the screen is going to get blurry – that's the way it'd work in real life too. You're focusing straight down to the target.

might help reduce details and give better framerate. Please don't refer to framerate drop as laggy, lag refers to your internet connection. Unless that is what you mean, that you get high network latency. In that case restart or router or modem and always play on servers with low ping.

I dont kno, I have it on my macbook and it runs okay, generally at 20 FPS.

I have my resolution at 1024*7-- (dont remember), with all most things set on low and i think textures of characters on medium (seriously i dont remember what the names for each setting were, i'm playing the game in french)
