Just want to make sure I have this right. I've installed XP under Bootcamp on a 2009 MacPro. XP shows the driver for Super-drive to be a Microsoft Driver dated 7/1/2001,version 5.1.2535.0 (file version 5.1.2600.5512 (xpsp080413-2108). I assume this is the driver that is used for burning DVD's when in XP under Bootcamp (as opposed to the MacOS driver)?

When I use Superdrive in XP it whines like a leaf-blower. I have been using Pro-Show Producer to burn DVD's. Setting is at Max burn rate. The Microsoft driver description shows DVD burn choices up to 30x, as opposed to Super-drive spec from Apple at 18x. Wonder if I should de-rate the Microsoft setting to 16x just to be safe.

I always burn slow (24x - 16x) so there isn't any combatible with most drives. Some drives out there do not like disks burn at higher rate.
