Looking for help, hope this isn't a duplicate.
Recently upgraded my Emac 700MHz with a combo drive (OSX 10.3.4)
Bought a pioneer dvd-103/a03 off ebay.
Installation went great.
Now drive will read data/music cds, will not burn cd-r, will not burn dvd, won't even play a dvd (just spits it back out).
Updated the firmware for the 103 drive without a problem.
Emac recognizes:
ATA-3 Bus:
PIONEER DVD-RW DVR-103:
Manufacturer: PIONEER
Model: PIONEER DVD-RW DVR-103
Revision: 1.90
Serial Number:
Drive Type: CD-RW/DVD-RW
Disc Burning: Apple Supported/Shipped
Removable Media: Yes
Detachable Drive: No
Protocol: ATAPI
Unit Number: 0
Socket Type: Internal

So is this a software problem, if so, how do I fix?
Or did I get a bad drive?
Help would be greatly appreciated it!

I had the same problem when I put a DVD-RAM drive in my B&W G3. It would not play DVD's or DVD-RAM disks.
After a reinstall of Jag with the DVD-RAM it works fine.
