Yesterday i tried turning my touch on but nothing happened...it just sits on a black screen. When i plugged it into my car usb port, it still played music and i could switch songs using the stereo, but the screen still stayed black on the ipod. When i plug it into the computer itunes still recognizes it and i can edit my songs and what not, but the screen still stays black.

It is jail-broken but i don't think that has anything to do with the screen problems.
Any ideas on how to fix this?

Is the screen turned off or has a black type of color on it?

The screen is just off.

The screen is just off.

It seems like a problem with the screen, not the software. Try and take it to the Apple Store and see what they say

Will the fact that it's jailbroken be a problem?

Can you sync your device to iTunes?

Sorry, but what exactly do you mean by that?

Does iTunes recognize your device when you plug it in?

If yes, just restore it and then it will be un-jailbroken. Just be sure to backup first. Right-click your device and select backup.

Bet. The restore actually corrected the screen problem, whatever it was. It works fine now.
