View Full Version : Why No Shuffle CDs option in 3.0?

With all the cool stuff Apple has added-why can't they add a Shuffle CDs option? I still use my Gen 5.5 80GB iPod more than my touch FOR MUSIC, because it is far better at playing music then the touch is.

This doesn't seem like it would take much! None of the "extended preferences" I have tried actually shuffle CDs even though they claim to.

C'mon Apple-I know I am not the only one wanting this feature!

Hmm-I can't be the only one out there perturbed with this issue?

Has anyone found a hack that will actually shuffle CDs (and I mean one that works, not one that claims to work :) )

The iPod Touch doesn't play CDs.

But it does shuffle.

Like you said, a standard iPod is far better at playing music than the Touch or iPhone are, so I never use the iPod feature of my iPhone. To me the iPod feature is a total waste as I would much rather use my iPod 5.5G just like you do.

Pretty sure you know what I meant-it obviously doesn't play CDs. It also doesn't shuffle them (or complete albums if you prefer).

I guess I am tired of having to carry the 5.5G. I would love to shuffle CDs (albums) on the iPod touch or even iPhone.

Course, I would love a 64GB iPod touch too-maybe in September...

I thought it did shuffle? Or is the OP thinking of shuffling multiple albums? I use shuffle within a playlist and it works fine.

Yeah I mean shuffle multiple albums-play an entire album then randomly pick another and play it all the way through.

I listen to a lot of trance, and shuffle songs just doesn't work with trance music.

there's a way to do it but you have to jailbreak and edit a .plist. just do a quick google search for "enable album shuffle on iPod touch"

I actually had this hack working on 1.1.4, but it hasn't worked since then :(
