View Full Version : How to "re-download" 3.0?

I downloaded and installed 3.0 on my ipod... My computer then crashed (ipod is fine), and I lost the installation file. While the update went through, I need to re-download the file for restore, etc. purposes. I've tried doing it via the itunes store, but the download never initiates because itunes can see my ipod already has the update. Any thoughts?

Try restoring the iPod. It should download the OS and install it.

For some reason I thought that wouldn't work since I didn't still have the file. Thank you!

I haven't tried this with 3.0, but in the past it has worked.

It should warn you if you are about to install an older version.

Seems to be working like a charm :)
