View Full Version : Macro without a Macro lens

As mentioned yesterday, my Sigma 105mm broke.. nice.. but since I really wanted to do some macro shots, I figured I try the 50mm + 25mm extension tube combo..

Here are the results and info:

1st shot, red bug: It has a size of 8mm in reality (measured it :)) and that size but with that lens, i am amazed at the sharpness, ISO was 400, f/6 1/3sec

2nd shot, Moth: This was on the side of my daughters swimming pool with VERY low light.ISO 1000, f/6.3, 1/10 sec

Both shots were with a tripod, no flash, no exposure compensation.

I love Macro :D but please forgive the noise , those images have not yet been processed

Nice shots. Way to improvise! I like that red bug. Very vibrant, and it has some neat antennas too. :)

Got the 100mm Canon f2.8 like 3 days ago.. here are a few of my first shots..
