nube here, I can only relate this to the task manager in windows, but is there an app that tells me what other apps are running, sometimes difficult to tell when I have closed one if it is still running, especially with the download for Iphone 3.0

The iPhone still only runs 1 application at a time, the one that's open. Apple's apps like Mail, iTunes will do stuff in the background, and Safari will stay in memory.

If you want something to tell you your free memory, you can search for FreeMemory in the App Store.
