I saw it like a year and a half ago on import VCD. Really funny stuff, utterly ridiculous, and different than most of what you'll see. Don't go expecting great production qualities, and you have to have a particular sense of humor to appreciate it I think. I'm also having a hard time imagining it overdubbed (which I assume they are doing).

it was pretty crazy and kinda funny. definitely worth seeing. i saw it with subtitles, though, and i think it would be pretty weird dubbed.

think low budget matrix meets bend it like beckham (i guess. never seen it, but i think it's about soccer) if you want an idea of what to expect.

I was looking at the DVD for it in a store but ended up with My Schoolmate the Barbarian, which has big name actors in it. While Shaolin Soccer looked interesting, I'm always concerned about something so cheap that it really isn't interesting at all.

I saw The Matrix and Bend it Like Beckham (right before the real Beckham got in a scandal) and liked both of them. I heard from somebody who saw Shaolin Soccer (maybe it was my parents, but I forget) that it was a fun movie and was indeed Beckham Meets Matrix.

I watched some of it, most of it in fast forward.

It's pretty cheesy and typical asian humor. The effects are terrible.

There were some funny parts though...(the part when the tools fall out of the guys shorts...)

it is a great movie.... if you understand cantonese :)

it probably wont be anywhere near funny if you dont watch it in its original language
theres a lot of slang and whatnot that makes every scene funny...
oh god now that i think about it... how are they gonna translate the singing parts :confused:

You can say that about any Asian language to western language translation. Ugggh! I end up watching with Cantonese audio and Cantonese subtitles since I can get the gist of it, except when they're spelling something.

I thought that was one of THE worst movies I have ever seen. It's still a joke between all my friends that are in the know about it. Every crappy movie is compared against it. The only thing that made us laugh was how bad the diologue was translated (and trust me, that's very funny).
