Plug-ins: What's the best location for easy backup on Mac?

I am running LR 2.3 on a Mac. I'm just getting into plug-ins. What's the best location for LR plug-ins that makes it easiest for back-up? LR backsup the library db, I have a folder for pictures. Where should I put plug-ins (also, does the LR weekly back-up back up presets as well?)

You should note that your plug-ins need to be in the correct folders or they won't work, so you are limited where you can put them.

Having said that though, ALL apps that I download, which automatically go into my download folder, I file in a folder labeled "apps"before I open and install them. Afterwards, I backup only that folder, so that if I need to do a clean install, there's no need for me to waste time on the internet searching (and downloading) them again
