Itunes and Itouch separate artists... Why?!

So on my Itunes, it has all of my artists together, but it randomly separates the albums sometimes (for example, it has songs 1-13 of the new DMB album, but 14-17 is near the bottom and i even made all of the information the same and added track numbers but it still doesnt change). Then on the Ipod touch, it has the new album in a separate Dave Matthews Band... why does it do this?

This is the case for a lot of my artists and making all of the info the same doesnt seem to be working.

Select all the songs of the album, press CMD-I so get the info-window, set the album artist field to “Dave Matthews Band“. Does that work?

no, i have no idea why, i've tried that, but it still lists them as separate artists.

I think the problem is what the person above said if you look in that info there are 2 different artist slot. Mine have the names in Artist and Album Artist is blank so if you do these at the same time make sure to check album artist and keep it blank
