I got this for my 3GS. I really love the case! I have one qualm. It does not work well with screen protectors! Anyone else have this issue? As soon as I start sliding on the case, it starts lifting the screen protector and causing bubbles. And the screen protector stays on fine without the case. It's just when I use both, I run into this issue.

Anyone else use the Incase Slider Case with screen protectors? What's your secret? I don't want to take my iPhone around without a case, yet I don't want the screen to get banged up either.

What screen protected are you using? I've used my Slider with a Zagg Invisible Shield on my 3G and I just installed Best Skins Ever's protector on my 3G S and the Slider fits fine.

I use the Power Support screen protectors (sold in the apple store). Anti glare and crystal screen protector have worked great with the case, I just had to get them on perfect (I've wasted a few on getting it lined up correctly so it fits in the case).

I kept the slider case and got rid of the screen protector. The screen will be fine.

Interesting. I may have to try those brands out. I am using the DLO Surface Shields.

I actually just dealt with this today, have an incase slider gunmetal, its bad, but anyway, power support protectors work great. The trick is to apply them with the bottom of the slider on, it helps to get it centered and all that so it fits perfectly, no bubbling because of the case.

What he said.

But I personally hated the incase slider. Everyone said it was slim and barely noticable, but it seemed too bulky to me. I am happy with my elago.

I had an incase slider on my 3G and it turned out that every time you slid it out of the case it scratches the back really bad. It really decreased the value of my iPhone on eBay. I would go with a case that goes around and locks the phone in somehow. I'm using the rebelserpent on my 3GS, and it's great.

Not bad, but I hate these cases with the little window for the apple logo. Just another place for dust and dirt to get into. Plus, it makes the logo vunerable.

It really is. It fits snug around your iPhone, sliding in and out won't scratch your phone (because there is no sliding.... lol.... the best part in my opinion), the package includes everything you could possibly ask for, it covers the chrome perfectly, and it looks GREAT. What more could you ask for from a case. The incase slider really taught me a lesson though..... :-(

What color did you get? I got white. Despite having a black iPhone, it still looks great, but I would have gotten the Black if it would have been in stock :<

I had an incase slider for my iPod touch. I liked it, but for 35 dollars it didn't really do much for the kind of peace of mind protection I wanted, like the Rebel Touch did. I loved the case for my touch, so when I upgraded to the iPhone it was only natural I got a RebelSerpent, and I don't regret it for one second.

I got Black and it's sweet. It got here the same day as my 3GS (the day it came out) so I got really lucky ordering. Does the rubber on ur case smell kinda funny if you smell the back of the case? Mine does... it smells almost like the rubber is melting but its not....

I have no problem and I love the incase slider. The secret is to leave the case on! Taking it on and off causes problems like scratches, screen protector issues etc.

I use the Power Support crystal clear (the best by far, and I have used them all) and I install the crystal clear after putting on the case!

That's the trick and I love it. :)

The logo actually serves a purpose most folks don't know about. It's actually reflective so that you can use it to align a self-portrait. If you use it like a little mirror, you can line up the camera and press the shutter button and you'll probably get a pretty good picture.

However, I personally have no use for this feature and I'm with you on wishing cases didn't have the cutout for it. My otter-box rugged case actually has a special sealed window just for the stupid logo.

Plus, it makes the logo vunerable. You know, I honestly thought long and hard about that.

But I guess my logic was, if you are going to not get a case that shows it, in hopes of protecting it, then what is the point?

Yes, your logo is protected. But why protect what you will never see anyway?

I figure IF the logo gets ruined in this case, THEN I will by a case that covers that area to hide it. :D

When it comes right down to it I use the case I do for two reasons.

1. To protect it from any falls or horrible scratches or whatever it may be

2. I want to keep it in great condition so I can sell it at a great price and be able to upgrade to the newer iPhone when that time comes around again. This is one of the biggest things I keep in mind. A horribly scratched iPhone will go for less than an iPhone in perfect condition.

But honestly, I usually don't sell my old iPhone.

I have a family plan with 5 lines and someone always seems to want my rejects.

But, if I WAS wanting a case that covers it that well, I think the Serpent is a cool looking case for sure.

You just to have align the screen protector as perfect as possible. I had to use both of mine in the Power Support pack and then had to redo the second one...and got dust and some lint under it, nothing major, but enough to annoy me from time to time. Might get some more soon and re do it. Will they do it for me at the Apple store?

For people who struggle with dust when applying screen protectors: if you clean the screen and apply it in a steamy room (bathroom with shower running) it reduces the amount of dust in the air. There's nothing worse than cleaning the screen and having dust or fuzz land on it while you've got two hands on the protector. So moist air = less dust = better application! :D

SGP screen protectors work really well with incase slider they are cut a bit smaller then the body of the phone so that the case doesnt catch it. my current set up

Gunmetal incase slider + SGP Screen protector

I had this same exact problem and what I did to solve it was to put on the screen protector on while the iPhone was in the case. I probably went through three before figuring this little trick out.

A little tip though, the Incase Slider will scratch the crap out of the chrome bezel on your iPhone. If you're okay with that, then keep it.

Well I have had my Slider case for over a week now and I am liking it so far. I get many complements for this case as it looks very sleek and stylish. It's not an attention grabber (if you get it in black at least) but it feels awesome in your hands (I have the touch version with the rubbery/velvety surface).

I already have a couple of tiny chips of the surface that reveal a hard shiny surface under it. Not sure how they got there as the case has taken some knocks and slides without any marks whatsoever.

Anyways, I decided to go without a screen protector at the moment but I just might in the future.

my black IPhone really looks good with the black case, very professional looking. I think I will post pictures when i get home tonight for everyone to see.

If you get around to posting pictures, can you post some of the case by a naked phone? I want to see how much bulk this case adds. I have a Griffin Reveal and while it is a really nice case, I just feel it may not be be enough protection.

I must apologize as the pictures are going to have to wait a couple of days. Major renovations are happening in my house and everything is in boxes. So I couldn't find my camera ofcourse .

From my experience, I would say that the slider case adds less bulk than the average case. I have never had any trouble keeping my iphone in my pocket with it on. It has never gotten in the way of me getting anything done.

My case feels very much part of the Iphone. Feels like the Iphone was build with this surface. Very solid and perfect size. Makes the iphone much easier to handle in your hands. A day doesn't go buy where I don't get compliments for it.

I will get some pictures up as soon as I find my camera:o

I've heard that to avoid the case scratching your phone, you PINCH the sides of the iPhone while you bring it out instead of pushing against the phone. I really want this case so badly, but I actually returned it after 2 months of usage because it scratched my 3G (which I still managed to sell for $300!) and I didn't want it doing anything to my 3GS. I already ordered a Green/Black iFrogz Luxe case, but I might be still willing to buy a Slider if they redesign it so it doesn't scratch the phone.

i'm sure i'm not picking out the one slider that just fits and doesn't damage the phone

sounds like a user problem to me

Quite a common problem actually, even the Apple store employees that I met had it. I already bought the Luxe, but I don't know when I'll use the gift card refund that I got from BestBuy, I must just buy the Slider again unless I really like the Luxe when it arrives in a week. Honestly no one is going to care about what case I have (unless it has a design like the Luxe) and it's only my preference, I rarely drop the phone so honestly any case will do, but I guess the one place where the Incase has me beat is when I take off the case to charge it and clean it, but again this is where the danger of scratching it comes into play if you aren't careful and slow when taking it out.

if you have an apple store close, go in and try the slider again. like you, i never drop my phone but the incase gives the best protection with the minimalist bulk.

i always use my girls phone w/ slider as the perfect tester. she drop her phone daily and yes the white slider is beat up, scuffed up, hairlined cracked, but the device is scratch free and still MINT. I'm shocked actually.

probably why i believe in there case and have never had problems myself

So the Apple Store's sliders work better than Bestbuys? 2 different models? I mean I'm assuming these same Apple Store employees got their cases from the store they're working in, so it's risky either way. The closest Apple Store is almost 2 hours away, I had to drive there to get my 3GS, won't do it again for the case, but thanks for your suggestions, I really want the Slider badly, honestly, but I need a credible source, like Incase or Cnet, saying that they've actually fixed that specific problem until I buy it.

ughhh 2 hours away? man i feel fortunate to have at least 5 apple stores in a 5 mile radius.

here's the thing...take a look at that other thread where the guy posted those flickr pics of his case. take a look at the right side of the camera hole. see how those lines are raised a little? (meaning flash). not the rubber rails. the raised lines will cause scratches because your sliding in and out.

so basically you have to open a box and look for flash

i checked my sliders and the inside surface is smooth like butter and why i havent had any problem with this case

i really think this guy nailed it with his observation

Put an old screen protector on the back of your phone and cover the apple logo all the way down to the model number. That ull take care of scratches on the back of the phone....Bahhhzzzing!
