*Update 5/8/10*
With the release of iOS 4, this thread has now been re-titled to reflect new responses regarding both OS's.

Just a heads up for those of you who use the free alternative to Intelliscreen, LockInfo has been updated to work with 3.0. However some people are experiencing springboard crashes upon updating. To get the update, add http://david.ashman.com/beta/ to your Cydia sources and install "Lockscreen Info". If your SB crashes and you would like to help the author in trouble shooting the problem, please refer to page 49 of the following official LockInfo thead at MacThemes.

http://macthemes2.net/forum/viewtopic.php?id=16794311&p=49

Here is also a thread detailing just the theme and how to configure your preferences for Winterboard.

Updated 7-10-09
Sorry for not keeping up with this thread, I posted it in passing, never thinking it would get so many responses.

Lockinfo 1.0.61 should be working now for everyone. The only problem I know of is that under the mail settings it displays two Gmail accounts if you have one. To get it to show up in Cydia, add http://david.ashman.com/beta/ to your sources. Additionally, add http://david.ashman.com/apt/ if you would like to hide the default lock screen clock and grey bar. Most lockinfo themes display info where the clock is normally so you should hide it. The image below is from the author, not me, so I cannot answer questions about why its a certain size to time/date. I just copied it from his thread over at Macthemes.com.

I have tested most of the Lockinfo themes and I prefer the Gruppled theme, which is displayed in the image below. The config.js file has a plethora of comments which allows for easy modification even for those of us that have no idea what a config.js file is. Following, is a link to Macthemes that describes the theme and how to customize it. http://macthemes2.net/forum/viewtopic.php?id=16794932&p=1

To install the theme, you must SSH into your phone and add/configure the files that you will download from the thread. Again, the config.js file has detailed comments telling you how to configure this theme to display exactly what you want.

You know, to get the info to appear on your lockscreen, you need Animated Lock Info Theme and LockInfo Matte UI theme also.

If you can't get LockScreen Info + a LockScreen Info theme to work, you're most likely doing something wrong. The relevant links have already been posted here so I won't go into how to get everything set-up correctly...but it all works.

BTW, Intelliscreen might work great, but believe me when I say that it uses a tremendous amount of memory as well as draining your battery faster. If you use LockScreen Info + a relevant theme, you can configure pretty much everything, including how often to poll for things like email, rss feeds and whatnot. The memory footprint is also negligible. Intelliscreen caused me troubles in the past, and since I stopped using it, i've never had any reason to go back.

Why pay for something when there are other free options out there that don't consume memory + battery life + have more customizable features? Not to mention, because LSI + themes are all HTML/JS based, new features can be added in the future extremely easily.

Hey Jcde7ago,

Which theme is this you are using with LockScreen Info ? Can you point me to it ?

The theme I am using does not have the double bar at top (2nd bar with time & date just below status bar) and since I am not they much of a tech guy, I have had not luck with importing the double bar into my theme.

You need to install a LockInfo theme (via SSH) along with installing LockScreen Info (thru Cydia)

Then you go into the configure.js doc (which is essentially a settings menu in text form) and decide what and how to display what you want.

In my example, I ssh'ed Gruppled LockInfo.theme into my themes directory.
Thru Cydia, I installed: Lockscreen Info, Lockscreen Clock Hide, 20 second Lockscreen, and Smaller Wide Sliders.

If you are using a theme with LockScreen Info, DO NOT put a check mark on "LockInfo" in Winterboard.

Just check mark the theme. But you have to configure what shows using configure.js

Have no idea about Status Notifier (is that what you are referring to?)

Only reason I used the "free" ones is I like the challenge, plus you learn alot.
When I started with this JB stuff, I knew nothing. First one step, then the other and pretty soon you can go into a file and fix it to do most anything you want.

Remember, this stuff is all over Google. You can read about how to do all of this, just take it a step at a time.

A quote from Jay Freeman (aka Saurik, creator of Cydia and pretty much the jailbreak Jesus if the Dev Team are the Gods):

Originally Posted by saurik View Post

To handle situations of buggy extensions, I designed Mobile Safe Mode. If SpringBoard crashes (and it has to crash: seriously crash) then you will get put into Safe Mode with all extensions disabled. This is a really awesome feature and really saves the day when an extension goes nuts.

Unfortunately, IntelliScreen seems to have been relying on the fact that their (incredibly buggy) product would crash and SpringBoard would /usually/ restart, and no one would really notice. In response to all this, they want me to modify Mobile Safe Mode to give their program a chance to sort of work again.

Personally, I don't really believe in that model: they should just fix their software. It is really important that you be able to get into Cydia to be able to uninstall their extension if it doesn't work, and all of their models of "what about if it crashes twice in a row" don't solve the problem of extensions that only crash when, for example, you try to do something important.

Besides, there are all kinds of extensions that are out there: WinterBoard, Dock2, QuickGold, from a bunch of developers, and IntelliScreen is the only one that has common, persistent issues. I finally got mad at them yesterday and removed them from the Featured page as they are simply refusing to play along with these safety nets.

Today I'm going to push an update to Mobile Substrate that clarifies the wording in that dialog box to make certain users understand that this is an issue /with the extensions/ (and probably say "likely IntelliScreen") and has absolutely nothing to do with a failure in Mobile Substrate.

You guys can keep recommending Intelliscreen if you want, but saurik's stance (and a lot of other people's, for that matter) on Intelliscreen still hasn't changed. LockScreen Info + a theme is far, far less resource intensive than Intelliscreen. It also won't kill your battery like Intelliscreen.

When the creator of MobileSubtrate, from which many, many apps run off of, including Intelliscreen, speaks, people should really listen. Head to ModMyI forums and check out the Intelliscreen forum..half the threads are people having issues with it.

I just havent done the SSH thing and not sure what to do. Im not going to buy an App that sucks so intellescreen is out. I dont really NEED Lockinfo, it just looks good. But i dont need the hassle.

The only thing im willing to maybe use SSH for is i need to do something to my mobileinstallation in the phone(thats what ive been reading is the problem) because i cant backup my stuff on iTunes now. There is a patch in Cydia for 3.0 called installd patch but it didnt do anything to fix my backup problem. Mayube 3.1 will fix it. I hope so. Other than the backup problem, everything on 3.0 is working great for me.

Your signature doesn't say if you use Mac or PC.

I use Cyberduck (for Mac) and it makes SSH really easy. The hardest part of it is figuring out where the iPhone "puts" different things like themes, wallpapers, movies, photos, SMS tones (but you learn it pretty quick).

There are some good tutorials out there. The most important thing is to not just delete anything the iPhone needs. Any if I replace or alter any of the original Apple firmware or items, I always keep a copy of the original file.

To do themes, just open the iPhone files, navigate to private/var/stash/themes and just drop the new theme in. Once it finishes copying, you can get the configure.js back out to your desktop (keep a copy of the original) and start playing around with TextEdit (on Mac) to configure the display the way you want it.

SSH is just a matter of drag & Drop. The only thing that has to be SSh'ed is the theme. Then pull out the Configure.js and start making sure the various features are set to true & false to determine what features you want. Also just replace the original zip code with your zip code to set weather location.

Should be Gruppled LockInfo Theme.

I think for PC, it looks like a folder. Drop the whole folder into private/var/stash/themes+some characters after themes (I think that's the correct path).

Once the theme is copied, open Gruppled LockInfo Theme/Bundles/com.ashman.lockinfo and inside there is the configure.js file. Drop a copy on your desktop. Save a copy of the original in case you mess it up. Find a text edit for PC (not sure what they use, maybe notepad ??) and open it up. To change most things you just enter or change "true" or "false"

There is a spot to enter a zip code in weather section. Then save it, with changes, and drop back into iPhone and override or replace original. Go to Winterboard, check mark the Gruppled LockInfo (but not LockInfo line) Restart phone, should load.

I tried doing this last night by reading this thread and got hopelessly lost.

I could only get it to bring up weather and mail, and on the weather it would not read the zip codes I put in.

I SSH'd the gruppled theme or whatever it is to the theme folder, and then loaded lockinfo via Cydia.

I think I MUST be doing something wrong when messing with the config file.

Sigh.

"So I installed LockInfo with the Gruppled theme...

I deleted the "com.apple.telephonyUI" folder in the theme, and that seems to have worked, but the words "Slide to Unlock" are missing. Is there any way to get that back?

Nope.

Once you go to uninstall Winterboard you'll see that all programs designed to run with it are removed right along with it.

Alright, I've FINALLY gotten the weather to show up.....but I can't get anything else to show up. Do you have to enable this stuff in that config file? I can read it and I got the weather working, but I mean geez.....what about the calender and everything else?

Ok...I'm KIND figuring out that I need to delete the "//" in front of sections I want to enable.

I've done this up top enabling the clock.

I can't figure out how to get the calendar on there.

Do I HAVE to put something down as an event to have the calendar to show up?

Also, the mail will not show up unless I have new mail. However, I see on there that some of you have like no mails showing up, just a blank counter.

I'd like to have that. I can't figure out how to get missed calls or sms on there either.

Do I HAVE to have an sms that is missed to have this?

Question, how did you get it to go so far down the screen? It seems mine won't go very far down since it gets cut off by the lock section. I have the little lock icon on mine like you do, however, if I keep expanding things, it gets chopped off really far from the bottom like the slider is still there.

Help?

Is there a chance you can upload for us your Custom.plist file and the relevant plug-ins you installed? Judging from your screenshot, it's pretty much exactly how I want my lockscreen to look.

I'd rather work off a near ideal .plist than start from scratch and have to painstakingly go through a trial & error process.

one thing that I do not like about Lock Screen Info is that you can't dive into any of the things on the screen like you can intelliscreen.

Or at least that's what my experience is/was. I didn't do any tweaking though I just downloaded the app and tried running it.

Can you make it so you can dive into details?

I tried getting the weather, email, ect. on LockInfo and became royally confused. I read all the pages and checked out the links - but it still is really that clear.

Could someone make a quick How-To Step by Step of how to get everything in the LockInfo screen.

Also, how do you get the standard Apple SMS/phone call notification to disappear so only the LockInfo screen is visible.

Thank you in advance and I'm sure this will help out MANY people.

Edit: Answered my own question. Under the Settings application there is the tab for "LockInfo". Click on that and there is a slider for "Extend to Bottom". Turn that from "off" to "on" and re-spring the device. Wala, it extends down to the bottom of the screen regardless of the slide to unlock bar.

Sorry for the repost, but this is probably a more appropriate thread for it anyway:

"So I installed LockInfo with the Gruppled theme...

Its great, except I tried getting back the stock "Slide to Unlock".

I deleted the "com.apple.telephonyUI" folder in the theme, and that seems to have worked, but the words "Slide to Unlock" are missing. Is there any way to get that back?

(Also "Slide to Answer", "Slide to Cancel", etc.)"

What you are missing is the modifications made in the theme to the Springboard.springs file. That is going to be located under Bundles/com.apple.springboard directory, IIRC under en.lproj (or whichever corresponds to your language settings). Remove that from the theme, and "Slide to unlock" should return.

All this talk about configure.js.... could somebody please give the full location to this file on our phones?

This thing is WEIRD.

You need to be using the proper theme (I believe in this specific instance it is the Gruppled Lock Info theme) for LockUI. In the directory of the theme, you want to look under Bundles/com.ashman.LockInfo. In there is a file called Config.js, which has the config settings for all the different widgets for LockInfo.

I have everything working just fine but I can't seem to find Lockscreen Clock Hide? Is this in Cydia?

I would love to remove the default clock on the lock screen. I need more room.

In Cydia, add the following source: http://david.ashman.com/apt
Inside that source is "Lockscreen Clock Hide". You install it, and then there is an option within the iphone settings window for Clock Hide, where you can hide the big clock on the lock screen and the small one on the lock screen top bar.

Alright guys. Here is an example of what I did to my config.js file to make it look like the examples that you see above.

The path for the file is as follows:
/Library/Themes/Grupple LockInfo.theme/Bundles/com.ashman.LockInfo/config.js

You must do the following to edit this file.
1. SSH the above file from your iphone to your desktop. (I use Cyberduck with Mac).
2. Then you will open the config.js file and edit it with a text editor.
3. Once done editing, upload it to the same location and have it replace the old config.js file.
4. Done.
5. Also, to make the stock lockscreen clock disapear so the one with this theme shows, download "Lockscreen Clock Hide" from the david.ashman.com source.

Bellow is a copy of the config.js file with the changes I made and comments in red.

For all of you grumbling about config.js, I already posted a copy of my file in this thread. It is set up just as my screenshot shows and very closely to the example in the post above this post.

The link is in this post of this thread.... config.js post (http://forums.macrumors.com/showpost.php?p=8010977&postcount=47)

My advice to some of you is "If you are looking for help, be sure and read the whole thread". After all, it's only 3 1/2 pages long. Everything from Cydia repos, file locations, examples, folder locations and how to configure the js are all in these few posts.

I hope this helps out guys.:)[/QUOTE]

Dang, stole half my idea! ;)

I need to redo my iphone tonight (going to try purplera1n as with redsn0w my battery percentage meter is REALLY wonky, and cydia is a tad crashy), so I was going to write up a tutorial with images of how to go from a just jailbroken iphone to getting LockInfo working properly, since a lot of people seem to be having issue (not just here) and the threads out there on MacThemes with the info are just too frigging huge to work with.

Also, just to note to people here, in this section here:
// (remove the "//" if you want it to show up) "Clock",
"Weather",
"Mail",
"Calendar",
"Calls",
"Voicemail",
"SMS",
];

The order in which the items appear in that list are the order they will appear on the lock screen. I changed mine around a bit (still a work in progress):
http://i298.photobucket.com/albums/mm244/hard-case/IMG_0012.png

Also, if you want to dig more into the look and feel of the display, in the Theme under the com.ashman.lockinfo/css directory are cascading style sheets you can edit, if you want to do things like change up colors, fonts, text locations, etc.

My next plan is to rework the fonts (maybe a bit smaller), tweak the rest of the icons, and tweak the way info is presented (like removing the second line in the calendar entry containing the end time and begins in info)...

I will try to simplify the install:

Open cydia and add this source ( http://simonv.chronophoto.fr/cydia/ )
When done add http://david.ashman.com/apt (Lock Screen Hide App)

Once the repository updates install the base Lockmatte UI and any other of the plugins that you want (there are several)

Open winterboard and activate the new Lockmatte info Theme
Go to the iPhone Settings scroll down to Lockinfo and customize the way you like

You can always use SSH and copy the files off the iPhone and edit them all you want in order to change the App to your liking.

Hope that helps? I became confused after reading literally hundreds of pages from numerous threads. It's really pretty straight forward but it can become confusing if you read everything posted. Thanks again to hard-case.

Is there a way to give lockinfo priority over cover art? When the iPod is on and you check lockscreen, lockinfo is obscured by the album art.

Or perhaps just remove the cover art from the iphone - I dont like it that much anyway.....

I am almost positive there is a program on Cydia that allows you to disable cover art from showing on your lockscreen. Too lazy to look for it now though..:D

I have not really noticed lag except if I have just re-sprung the phone or something. This is on a iPhone 3GS however so it may be different with a 3G model.
I have noticed that it sometimes takes a bit for changes in the mail category to register. Like when I get a new mail, the number might not increase right then when it should.

Otherwise it seems to work very well.

thats weird im on a 3GS also, but for me when i slide to unlock, it takes about 1sec or so for the LockInfo to go away compared to the status bar info...i can't really explain it :o

I never even thought to look there. I found nothing on Cydia (in the default sources plus the few I added) but did find it in the default sources for Icy. The name of the plugin is NoAA.

Thanks.

You just need to use the location code "loccode" from the end of that URL.

instead of the UK120 that you inserted... use

Ok this may or may not help you but I had a bit of trouble getting this to work initially as well, as for some reason it was conflicting with a theme I had plus I only skimmed the directions (of course that was my own fault there).

But what got it all working was to install LockInfo, and a lockinfo theme (ie Gruppled LockInfo).

Make sure in Winterboard LockInfo is unchecked, and Gruppled LockInfo or whatever lockinfo theme you have is checked on.

Now the calender and everything should be showing, you will then want to modify the config.js file located in /Libary/Themes/Gruppled\ LockInfo.theme/Bundles/com.ashman.Lockinfo/ for any customizations that you may want to do to the lockscreen.

Also if you have another theme that you want to modify everything else on your iPhone, make sure you drag that theme to the top of the winterboard list (above Gruppled LockInfo and LockInfo at least) so that all the customizations work such as that themes or user selected background on the lockscreen).

Attached are 2 screens of my final theme setup.

Ok yeah I forgot to mention Gruplled LockInfo isnt in a repository on Cydia that I know of. Maybe someone else can chime in on that one.

Here is what I did to get Gruppled LockInfo onto my iPhone...
There are probably easier ways but hey it is what I did so here you go...

1) Install openSSH on your iPhone (which I assume you already have on there)
2) Install wget on your iPhone
3) Install unzip on your iPhone

(all 3 above can be gotten on Cydia)

The page with this listed on macthemes is down but it is here http://macthemes2.net/forum/viewtopic.php?id=16794932

Gruppled Lock Info's creators mediafile page is at http://www.mediafire.com/gruppler

the direct link is http://download558.mediafire.com/a42rjtr2domg/qzmziyzkwet/Gruppled+LockInfo.theme-0.9.5.2.zip

So on your iPhone, goto the directory /Library/Themes and type

A)wget http://download558.mediafire.com/a42rjtr2domg/qzmziyzkwet/Gruppled+LockInfo.theme-0.9.5.2.zip
B)unzip Gruppled+LockInfo.theme-0.9.5.2.zip
C)rm Gruppled+LockInfo.theme-0.9.5.2.zip

Now it is installed and go enable it from Winterboard.
Hopefully I didn't leave anything out.

And hey maybe you have a quicker way to get the files onto your iPhone so anyways at least the files needed are listed above. Good luck.

after tinkering with it all night I finally got it to work and display the way I want. Man this is 1000X better than intelliscreen. No lag miminal memory use so far.

I'm using the grupple theme, although it looks really nice its missing many of the plugin that the matte theme has like RSS, twitter, thingstodo etc.

Anybody know how i can implement it into the grupple theme?
I tried staight drag and drop into from matte into the grupple theme the individual plugin but understandably it won't work. Any ideas?

Sure to this post I added my config.js file saved as a txt file for your perusal.

Basically you just need to set I believe...

// Hide empty sections?
var hideEmptySections = false;

As to the slider with the nice scrolling curling design around the unlock slider, it is part of a theme called iGlassSol which can be gotten on Cydia. If you want to use it as in my prior post stated, enable it along with Whatever LockInfo theme you have and move iGlassSol above it, and all should work out.

If you want to change the text as I have...

On your iPhone,

1)Goto /Library/Themes/
2)Create a folder called whatever you want, I chose 'robsiphone'
3)Inside this folder keep making folders exactly to create this path...
/Library/Themes/robsiphone/Bundles/com.apple.springboard/en.lproj/
4)Inside the folder en.lproj create a file called 'SpringBoard.strings'

Inside this SpringBoard.strings file copy the following into and save (dont forget to modify it to say what you want.)

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<!DOCTYPE plist PUBLIC "-//Apple//DTD PLIST 1.0//EN" "http://www.apple.com/DTDs/PropertyList-1.0.dtd">

When you install iGlassSol or whatever other theme that has a slider unlocker, move it to the top of the Winterboard list so it is above all the screenlock apps such as Gruppled LockInfo and it should replace the tap unlock of Gruppled with iGlassSols slide unlocker.

Again, the config.js file has detailed comments telling you how to configure this theme to display exactly what you want.
http://david.ashman.com/beta
http://david.ashman.com/apt

these two links are not working!

samven582

I tried installing this and giving me a error. It tells me "the requested modifications cannot be applied due to required dependencies or conflicts that cannot be automatically found or fixed:

I would love the custom.plist for that. If anyone knows how to do that, that would be awesome. Also, anyone knows of any guides for doing all this stuff. I am extremely new to this.

I just installed LockInfo from Cydia after adding the new source and I'm already getting missed calls, emails, etc. on my lockscreen.

Are people using the theme for the modification aspect? I think i'm golden with the default being used, other than my lockscreen background is a bit too bright, making the LockInfo text hard to read.

Using SSH navigate to the Gruppled theme folder - the same folder the config. js file can be found it.

Open the CSS folder

Open the "structure.css" file

Find this tag and 2 following lines:

.header {

line-height:18px;

Further down in that same tag you'll see
text-align:center;

Simply change "center" to "left"

It's actually a hodgepodge of different things. The "core" of it is the Gruppled LockUI theme. I borrowed the lockscreen slider from the main GruppledArt Theme
which can be found here:
http://macthemes2.net/forum/viewtopic.php?id=16794932
The slider icons are located under /Bundles/com.apple.TelephonyUI, you just grab these files:
bottmbarbkgndlock.png
bottombarknobgray_pressed.png
bottombarknobgray.png
bottombarknobgreen.png
bottombarknobred.png

The icons on the actual status entry bars I took from some of the iconsets here:
http://iphonetoolbox.com/category/icons/
I just resized them to IIRC 20x20 (they probably should be dropped down to 19x19 to fit better).
Those icons get placed in /Bundles/com.ashman.LockInfo/images. The main bar icon has an "h" at the end of the name, and the subheading icons have the straight name. For example, in my image the green SMS icon on the main bar is "smsh.png", whereas the white bubble is "sms.png"

The top bar comes mostly from stuff I grabbed from ModMyI. The signal strength bars are called "Red To Green Signal Bars", and can be found here:
http://www.modmyi.com/forums/downloads/signal-bars/14/red-green-signal-bars-117/
The WiFi icons (which I think needs a tweak to be a bit smaller) are called "Deep Blue RSS WiFi", and can be found here:
http://www.modmyi.com/forums/downloads/signal-bars/14/deep-blue-rss-wifi-18481/
The battery icons are called "Blue Battery", and can be found here:
http://www.modmyi.com/forums/downloads/other/15/blue-battery-title-bar-status-bar-header-24461/

The AT&T carrier logo is on Cydia as "AT&T Carrier Logo".
The 3G icon is also on Cydia as "3G Fireball Icon".

I'm still working on the mega guide idea.....trouble is I spent most of yesterday upgrading the HD on my MBP to a WD Scorpio Blue 500gb, and taking the old drive and tossing it into my PS3. Now that I've got that all taken care of I can finish working on the guide and the theme tweaks.

when i try to open the gruppled theme file so that i can edit it (like it says to do in the link to the macthemes2 site), cyberduck just keeps timing out...does anyone know why?

I ran into this, too. I found that if my phones screen locked, it would drop wifi and switch back to 3g. As soon as I unlocked it, it would jump back onto wifi and I was good to go.

Annoying.

nevermind. I got it work but mail/calendering is not showing

This might not necessarily be an error, depending on settings.

For example, with calendar it will be dependent on how far you're setting it to display events. If you're only viewing events over the next 2-3 days, but there are no events, by default you will not even have a calendar entry.

With email, if you have no new email, by default the email entry will not appear in the lock screen.

I believe this is controlled in the config.js file by the following section:
// Hide empty sections?
var hideEmptySections = true;

I have it set to true, and any headers with no relevant info are hidden. False should make the entries appear as just title bars with "Mail (0)"/"Calendar (0)"...

The Gruppled theme has to be on your iphone first. make sure WiFI is working on iPhone, check display, as Cyberduck works via Wifi.

My phone does this on lockscreen also. Maybe a power saving thing in 3.0 ??? As soon as you unlock it or touch lockscreen, WiFI fires up.

insomnia can be turn on and off, there is even a toggle for sbsettings for insomnia. I only left it on when i'm messing with my phone thru ssh or d/ling big files, no sense to leave it on otherwise.

Will affect ur battery if u have it on as your phone must be making a constant connection to do something. but its so easy to turn off and should be off most of the time its not really a big issue.

To do this, you could download iBlacklist. Turn off all the blacklist/whitelist features, and in the extras menu you disable the Call and SMS notifications. You'll get the sound/vibration, but it will block the lock screen popup window.

Ok I copied your config file however I am still having some issues. I have gruppled theme and gruppled art installed as well, however I would like to use the very thin slider and not the tap to unlock, what do I need to do? Also what program do I need to use to open and edit the config file. Every time I click on it I get an error. And lastly I this is my lock screen right now. The other functions like sms and mail disappear when I check the mail or sms is this normal should they not stay on the screen as I am using your exact config file?

To those who have the sections showing "Not Found" after the update to the Lock Matte theme, re-spring your phone. They should go away then. At least it worked for me.:D

As to the Twitter extension, this does work perfectly well with the LockMatte theme. Download the extension and enable it through the Apple Settings/LockInfo/Twitter section. I do not think that you can get this to work with Gruppled, but maybe someone will get the files over to make it work. There is currently nothing in the Gruppled config.js file though that would allow this.

I am on a Mac and I just use text edit to change config.js file.

I have the screen configured to only open the SMS & mail bars show when there is a text or mail message, otherwise they are hidden. That can be changed.

For the thin slider, Hard Case put the links up to add that slider in an earlier post on this thread.

If you create this file and move it to the top of your winterboard, it will override the no text thing and display whatever you want as the slider text. If you wanted it back to default, just have the text say Slide To Unlock... like it used to.

Haha, I was just gonna post about the same problem. It does not seem to update right away for me either. I am not sure why this is. Tends to do it with all three of my email accounts I have set up. I get the email alert sound, but no change with the number on the lockscreen. I will add that this is not always consistent. If I tend to wait a little while before I check, it seems to be correct. I am guessing it is a problem with the mail script, and maybe how often it is checking with the mail program or something.

Anyone else?

Nope, the whole thing is in one folder for me. I generally grab a theme I like, then replace all the parts I don't like with parts I do like (sliders, colors, backgrounds) and use the config.js to set the order and what to display and not to display.

After a while you just learn where the parts which control each item are stored in the folder. Very confusing at 1st. I have only been doing custom theming about 2 weeks or so.

I accept all updates, both Cydia and all the mods I got off Cydia. I am not having any problems.

I have DL'ed a couple things off Cydia which haven't been updated to work with 3.0, put me into safe mode, but I just got rid of them, and all was OK.

how come after I go to the lockscreen, it goes on sleep mode like 5 seconds later? is there a way so it stays up longer?

You need to install the "20 Second Lockscreen" from Cydia

I posted in an earlier post here (http://forums.macrumors.com/showpost.php?p=8065506&postcount=117) about how to change the text on the slider to whatever you want. If you create this file and move it to the top of your winterboard, it will override the no text thing and display whatever you want as the slider text. If you wanted it back to default, just have the text say Slide To Unlock... like it used to.

thing is the text only shows up when i get a push notification 98% of the time. It is invisible otherwise.

Which theme is this? I know its not the default gruppled them, or the Tea Art gruppled theme. I want to get that icon set because they look way better than the regular gruppled theme icons.

Thanks

Nice...I've got everything working with the iGlassSol theme, but I prefer the skinny slider bar.

Anyone know how to change the slider? Would be cool to have the "shiny" border from the iGlassSol theme on the skinny bar....is that possible?

EDIT: Nevermind...got it!! Thanks to everyone for all the help! I've learned so much from this one thread!

how did you get the missed calls and sms in the center? which lines do you have to adjust?

I'm not aware that I changed anything myself (unless by accident) But heres the files for my LockScreen (http://www.megaupload.com/?d=PVTNBHT3).

Anyone else noticing that the mail does not always seem to update right away. Sometimes I have to unlock my phone even before it will update on the LockInfo screen. I don't know if this is just some glitch or what. Maybe I need to uninstall and re-install it if no one else has this happen.

Anyone using the Gruppled Art theme notice that the status bar disappears after you open any app and then close it?

It comes back everytime you open an app, but is gone when you're just looking at the springboard.

Kind of annoying since I can't see my signal strengths and the SBSettings screen can't be brought up unless I open something up...

I've narrowed it down to the Gruppled Art theme by playing around with different combinations in Winterboard....

Does anyone have a fix for this?

From what I have discovered, it does not work well if you have both "Extend to Bottom" and "Scrolling" turned on. It seems you can only do one or the other. If you do just scrolling, it should work well, but the disadvantage is it will not go all the way to the bottom of the screen. So take your pick, until someone makes a fix to allow for both I guess. ;)

scrolling doesn't work for me with extend on or off, it still only bounces. not sure if there is a setting in the config.js or one of the other .js files to allow scrolling.

Get iBlacklist in Cydia

iBlacklist has options that hide the SMS notification window. It is part of the free version of the app, so you don't need to buy a registration key.

1. Install iBlacklist
2. Run iBlacklist
3. Go down to the "Extras" menu
4. Set SMS and MMS privacy to on.
5. Voila, no more notifications popping up.

You might need to respring your phone after step 4 to get the results, I don't remember.

It would seem that some of the stuff just does not update all that rapidly for some reason, which kinda defeats the purpose of this. As i said before, it does this for my mail. I have not noticed it with voicemail yet, but that it cause I have not had any. :D

I am trying to look through the forum on Macthemes2.net, it is just super long though.

Yah.. The mail takes up to a couple minutes to update, but I've left this voicemail in my mailbox, unchecked, since like Monday hehe

Depending on what LockScreen theme you're using.. I am using Gruppled along with LockInfo, here is what to do to get the calender to show:

This is if you're using Gruppled, the navigation and config file might be different if you're using something else.

1. SSH into your iPhone.

2. Navigate to /Library/Themes/Gruppled LockInfo.theme/Bundles/com.ashman.LockInfo

3. Make a backup of "config.js"

4. Open "config.js"

5. Look for this section:

// Arrange and/or disable (by commenting-out) sections:
// To enable a section, remove the "//" at the beginning of the line
var sections = [
"Clock",
"Weather",
"Mail",
"Calendar",
"Calls",
"Voicemail",
"SMS",
];

Make sure that "Clock", doesn't have // in front of it.

6. Scroll down a bit and look for this section

// Draw a monthly calendar as a collapsable subsection of the custom clock
var showMonth = true;

Make sure it is set to true, and not false.

7. Save the file back to the directory.

8. Respring your phone, wait for it to load up and it should work.

9. If anything goes wrong, restore to your backed up "config.js" file and respring your device again.

10. You might want to get Lockscreen Clock Hide from Cydia to disable the default iPhone lockscreen clock, it will look much nicer.

Worked!

Since we're at it is there a way to use Gruppled but with a original slider and not the simple press lock? I will look over the config.js settings for a clue.

I attempted to add my location to the weather but I have no idea what results I am getting. It certainly isn't 31 degrees here:
var locales = [
"Warrington, PA",
];

Thanks for the help. These tricks are pretty fun once you get the hang of it.

I'm not sure about the lock, I'd prefer an actual slide bar too rather than the "push anywhere" feature.

As for your weather.. are you updating it? Also is it maybe in celsius or fahrenheit? I'm Canadian so I'm not sure if 31 celsius results to a reasonable fahrenheit hehe.

Have a look around in this thread...there's answers to both questions somewhere around here...

For the slider bar, you can apply another theme (that has a slider bar) and move it on top of the lock theme in winterboard. or you can just ssh the slider bar out of that theme and put it into your lock theme.

This is probably confusing if you haven't read the entire thread...

Anyways, how did you change fonts and font colors?

And how do you get colored icons (for calendar, email, etc) onto the lockscreen?

You didn't modify anything in SSH? I'm looking to keep my current theme but just add color to the lockscreen and maybe change the type of font. Do you think you can give me a few pointers of where I can start (i.e. folder pathways where I can SSH and modify fonts/icons)?

I found out how to replace the "tap to unlock" with an actual slide bar (and a pretty one at that).

1. Take the two attached files here.

2. Navigate to /Library/Themes/Gruppled LockInfo.theme/Bundles/com.apple.TelephonyUI/

3. Copy the 2 attached files into that folder, overwriting the 2 with the same name that are in there.

The slide bar will look like this:

No, I have modded quite a bit via SSH.... From previous ----> I have done some mods to it (font, slider, background, etc) plus Message (SMS) bubbles, status bar Wifi, 3G, Battery indicators, others I can't recall just now.

Start with the theme, decide what you want to change, go thru this thread plus Google to find info on locations & mods

Any other Theme that you have used or like ? for ex. Gruppled Art
look inside that folder -> Bundles -> com.apple.TelephonyUI (there were about 22 images in Gruppled Art Theme)
copy all the files from that Theme to your active LockInfo.theme/Bundles/com.apple.TelephonyUI

and respring ... worked for me

similarly if you like bits of other Themes you can mix & match by copying images over to your new theme
