apple trade in policy?

Someone told me that they were able to trade in their ibook to buy a newer powerbook. Does anyone know anything about this? Does apple have a program where you can sell back computers (obviously at a reduced price) in order to apply the money toward a newer computer?

Sounds familiar. Might have been an old promotion. I don't think there's anything like that in place currently.

Some people say that when they are selling their machine on e-Bay (or plain selling it), and buying a new one.

It's been quite awhile since Apple had a company-sponsored trade-in.
