Hack to Adjust Bluetooth Output Volume?

So... I went and bought some Sony bluetooth earbuds for a bit over $100 and assumed they would be 100% awesome with 3.0.

Little did I know that the iPhone has no way of adjusting output volume, and these earbuds do not have a volume control.

Does anyone know of a way to maybe hack a volume control in there or something? I know this is a long shot but it's the only thing I can think of at the moment...

Hummmm.. I use a Rokr bluetooth headset occasionally with iPod functions on 3G, 3.0 JB/UL. Volume is adjustable using volume adjustment in iPod music/movie settings as well as on headset itself.

No there is no adjustment. The way they implemented A2DP on the iPhone the audio signal is just like line out. You have to use the device to control the volume.

Ive tried playing music through some bluetooth speakers and I can only adjust volume on the speakers, not my phone. Sucks :(.

I may be thinking pre-A2DP as I was using a little Sony plug in tab to enable bluetooth stereo connection. Seems like I could adjust volume on device also, but I may be mistaken.

Since A2DP, I'll concede that I am probably mistaken, however.
