no sound on some apps, new message no sound ???

I have an iphone 3gs.
Recently when i receive a new text message or voice mail the phone vibrates instead of making the "new text message" tone "Tri-tone" that i have selected in the settings option.

When i type a text message the phone does not make the keyboard click sound anymore even when i have the option turned on in the phone settings.

some on my apps "Terminator salvation" their is no sound playing through the speaker. i only get sound if i plug in headphones.

also when i connect my iphone to my pc and no longer get a tone, the phone just vibrates -.-

anyone else having this problem ???

i feel like an idiot, the "ring/silent switch" (located on the left side of the phone above the volume switch) was turned on. once i turned it off the phone worked as normal :rolleyes:
