How big in diameter is the cable management hole on the back? I was hoping to be able to fit the 20" ACD DVI cable through that hole, but from the pictures it looks like it may be too small...

And M stand will confirm that because I e-mailed them years ago to ask.

However since you have a 13" MPB - I'm guessing unibody (not sure if there is another) - you should be able to get a Mini Displayport extension cable male-female and that will easily fit through the hole.
I believe Monoprice has one - or I read somewhere will have one shortly. :D

Yeah, I bought the adapter from monoprice(it should be getting here today), but I don't think it's long enough to reach all the way to the hole on the back of the mStand.
EDIT: Oh, I see what you mean. You mean a mini displayport extension. I'm worried that too many adapters might be a problem. Would it be?
It would be:
ACD DVI --> DVI/Mini Displayport adapter --> Mini Displayport extension --> MacBook Pro
EDIT 2: Looks like it'll be available soon from monoprice. (http://www.monoprice.com/products/product.asp?c_id=102&cp_id=10246&cs_id=1024602&p_id=5502&seq=1&format=2)

Yep exactly.
I think you should be fine. It would be worth testing it out - it would make your desktop a lot cleaner.

If I wanted a clean desk, maybe I should have went with the LED Cinema instead... :p

Don't let this deter you from the mStand
It is an awesome design, this issue notwithstanding
You will be pleased with it once you work through your inconvenience with this

I'm not sure if MonoPrice's July 8 ETA is accurate (they previously said June 16 (http://www.macfixit.com/article.php?story=20090615091545816)), but DataPro's Mini-DisplayPort extension cables (http://www.datapro.net/products/mini-displayport-extension-cable-male-female.html) should be available in the first week of July. :)

What about a mini displayport-hdmi cable to hdmi-dvi cable?

Why not just go Mini-DisplayPort to DVI (http://www.datapro.net/products/mini-displayport-to-dvi-d-adapter.html)? There's no need for the HDMI middle step.

Although I dont use that wire management (aka hole) on mine, I wonder what these dudes at RainDesign were thinking when they chose that diameter. I guess you can always dremel out a bigger hole, haha

Hi folks,
The mStand hole is currently too small for the ACD's DVI cable. We are currently working to fix that. We will post updates on our website and facebook when we do.
During design the hole was initially bigger but during production, there was a problem which causes some warping. And we underestimated the amount of people who uses the ACD with their Macbooks. Our bad. Hopefully, we can get this fixed soon. Our apologies to all ACD users.

There are a couple of actual responses to yhour question:
A. Because Apple has their own official forums to do that
B. Because Apple employees are not allowed to read, let alone respond to websites like these.
