So right now my current configuration features a 1TB Maxtor Central Axis which houses my iTunes library for streaming to my various computers, devices, PS3, and television. In addition I have a 1TB LaCie hard drive that I use to general backups.
I have been considering setting up some sort of RAID configuration to ensure data redundancy while also being able to use the same set up work as a streaming NAS server to my other components. I know Drobo makes a product but it's rather expensive given it's specs.
Does anyone know of any other companies that produce a device similar to this or have an idea of how I would go about constructing this myself?
