hey everyone,
i was just wondering if anyone could give me some advice. Each time i plug my ipod touch into my computer and open itunes it resets the whole computer. it will keep on doing this until I take my ipod out of the usb port. i tied plugging it into my laptop and accessing the few songs i have on there and it worked fine.
I'm not sure what's going on, Wether its my ipod or if its my computer (both pc's by the way).
any help will be much appreciated

I have the same problem.

does this happen when you plug in other devices or just turn on itunes? does it just turn off or restart?

This happens only when i connect my ipod touch. The first time it works so i can get my songs in to the ipod. But the second time i connect it, it only turn off my computer. So if i wanna have some new apps i have to reset my hole ipod. And then do it all over again.

The computer restarts but when it starts again it only turns off and so on until i disconnect my ipod.

Hope some one have an answer :)

Sounds like you have a driver issue. First, try reinstalling iTunes and see if it fixes it. If not uninstall iTunes and reinstall.

I had this same problem happen after updating to a newer version of iTunes. I found out that the drivers for any of my HP printers were conflicting with iTunes. All you have to do if you use any HP printers is either turn them off or unplug the usb cable before plugging in your i Touch. The other issue was with an add in 4 port usb card. In this case I just plugged the i Touch cable into a different usb port from the add in card.

Hi, i am experiancing the same problem with my 2g 16 touch, ever since the software upgrade. Have tried updating all my drivers, still shuts down. Tried plugging in ipod with everything, including mouse and keyboard disconnected, still shuts down. Have even reformatted my hard drive, reinstalled everythin and still shuts down.Works fine on sons laptop and his touch works fine on my pc, so the next step seems to be to buy a new pc unless anyone has any more ideas.

Thanks.
