23" apple cinema display issues

I seem to be having a few problems with my 23" apple cinema display. The first issue being that the screen seems to be slightly lighter (with a very light yellow tint) on the left hand side. The second issue is that when I have different windows (i.e. safari) open I can see through them-like there slightly transparent, I can see my desktop image through the windows. This is very noticeable in photoshop when I have a dark coloured document open.

Any ideas as to why this is happening?

Same here, but I have a new 24" ACD and a late 2008 MBP 15" 2.53GHz running 10.5.7. Anyone else having this yellowish tint on the left half of your screen problem?
