Hello everyone! I just joined the forum! Just ordered a refurbished MBP 2.53 model.

I have 3 questions I would like to ask! Can ya help a newbie out? :]

1) Do they have a mac version of Bioshock?
2) Has anyone tested bioshock via bootcamp, if so how does it run?
I would like to know how it would run on the 2.53ghz with 4gb ram and nvidia9600.
3) Anyone lookin' forward to bioshock 2? :]

Thanks and much appreciated!

1. No.
2. Just like any other PC.
3. Yes but only if the multiplayer doesn't take away from the single player.

Well the other questions have been answered but this. I dunno. Bioshock 1 was okay but 2 looks more of the same and developed by a different team. Seems more like a cheap cash in IMO.

1. No. And even if that version existed, I wouldn't waste my money on it. Mac ports almost always suck.

2. It will run okay, but you'd be better off with an Xbox 360 for playing this game.

3. Yes, I am looking forward to it -- but I'll buy the Xbox version.

I have an early 2008 MBP (the one before the unibodies came out), and I run Bioshock on max settings at 1680x1050 (on an external monitor) perfectly. If you want to see examples from other people, go to Youtube and type in 'bioshock macbook pro'.

Hey, hold it right there! The Mac port of BioShock does exist, and it is badass!
I've been addicted to it for the past few weeks and couldn't put it down until I beat it. It's the best first-person shooter I've played in years and it runs like a gem on my quad-core i7 iMac.

So there. :p
Go out and buy it. You won't be disappointed.

Let's Sekuhara!,

When they posted this thread last year in July, Bioshock wasn't available on the Mac yet. It wasn't released until October of last year. :)

umm can't you just use the vita chambers and go attack, die and attack more since enemies health stays where it was when you died? So just wail away, die and go back and attack more and die and repeat.. or go on easy mode?

ah i got the god mode stuff done, thats one off my list. another thing is that bioshock allways seems to run abit slow and framey on my mac, as you can see under i got the 21.5 inch 3.06ghz 4mb ram and the nvidia GeForce 9400 256 video ram. any ideas?

I had heard there was a Cider-wrapped app for Mac OS X, but honestly I haven't tried ... I just play my original CD copy in Windows :)

I think so. I really enjoyed it.

yes it is well worth it, if you have the mighty mouse or magic mouse using the scroll to change between weapons is tricky, also using primary and secondary click.

also if you do buy it, make sure you got a very very decent graphics card. im on a nVidea 256 and its not enough, even with 3.6 ghz processor. i like my gameplay to be as smooth as possible
