Stuck at apple logo. 2g tethered jailbroken

I cant get my ipod to go back to the home screen. I jailbroke it a few months ago and restarting it was fine. Now all of a sudden, it gets stuck at the apple logo.
I cant turn it off cause ill have to hook it up to the computer to restart it.

Not true but one can run into trouble if he/she loads too many ""unofficial" apps. There's practically nothing that can't be reversed after a botched jailbreak or a phone that crapped out after jailbreaking. Jailbreaking is totally harmless.
