3.0 Ipsw Download

Hi Guys. I'm trying to jailbreak my iPhone 3g . I've downloaded redsn0w and the 3.0 ipsw files. But everytime redsn0w asks for it I select the right folder but there is no ipsw. I've unzipped it but still nothing. PLease help me guys its doing my head in

With certain browsers downloading a ipsw file will turn it into a .zip. When you unzip it do you get a folder containing a bunch of files? If so, the zip is the actual ipsw file. Rename .zip to .ipsw or if the name is .ipsw.zip then just remove the .zip.

What are you using to download it (Safari, FireFox, IE)? Use Finder (OS X) or Windows Explorer to look at the folder with the IPSW. Make sure the IPSW extension is on the file. I believe one of the browsers saves it as a ZIP file if the associations are in place for compressed files.

Iwas using safari. Downloaded it with firefox and worked first time. Cheers guys.
