Replacing 3G with 3GS - "new" or "restore"?

My new 3GS arrives today. I currently have a 3G with the 3.0 firmware on it.

Should I set up the 3GS "fresh" or should I do a restore as part of the process (in other words, should I select "Set up as a new phone" or "Restore from backup of:")? For some reason, it seems cleaner to me to just "start over" and set up all of my settings and sync preferences from scratch.

Thoughts?

I started fresh for the same reason, the only issues are the settings, in app settings, and email accounts will need to be set up again. These were a non-issue for me because I did not have a lot of data stored within my apps.

if u had a lot of stuff, i would do restore.


heck.. i would do restore unless ur old phone was running kinda slow from all stuff on it.
