broken home button

my ipod touch 2g fell in some water i dried it out but the home button still doesnt work and the screen with dim drastically so basically its a normal ipod now...just music. so for the 3.0 jailbreak you need the home button of course is there any way to get around this?

Jailbreak it and download SBSettings. Then get the home button add on.

Then you're screwed. Sorry. Keep drying it, and maybe it'll fix. That happened to my old iPod touch and I let it dry for a week and the home button worked.
