ECID Question

I uploaded my ECID to purplera1n and downloaded the file provided.

Do I still have to do the iClarified method of restoring to obtain the iBEC & iBSS files or is the purplera1n method sufficient?

Well I'm running 3.1 but I can downgrade to 3.0 if need be. I just want to make sure that I'll be able to jailbreak 3.1 when the time comes.
