I have an extra screen protector (power support) would it be smart/helpful to cut it and cover the camera lens with it? I've noticed that, because of my case, dust tends to collect around the camera. Has anyone ever had an issue with dust getting under the lens?

No, but if it does apple will fix it free, and a screen protecter wont help with dust, so i dont see why you would cut up a screen protecter just for that.
Just wait until you replace the screen protecter you have on now and cut a good part off of that for your lens of you really want one.😉

Don't bother. The screen protector may seem clear but it is not optically clear. It will only make your photos even blurrier!! 😱
