Does anyone out there use a software drum machine for recording? Other than the loops provided in GarageBand. I am looking for a software that I can program and add fills and roles in, without having to buy an actual hardware drum machine.
Thanks!

Reason (http://www.propellerheads.se/) is very good, has synths samples loops and drums.

iDrum is indeed excellent!
i've been using Reaktor mostly for drums but i dont think you'd want to bite off that much right now. Once Ableton Live 4 is released next month it will also do the job, as the new version adds a nice step sequencer and VSTi support. www.ableton.com
