... a bunch of people escaped death and then death tries to get them. I think the scene where they escaped death was on a highway and a log fell off a truck and did not hit them although it was supposed to.

Nah it was def part 2 since ALi Later reprised her role from part 1 as the g/f.

They are coming out with another one of these and supposedly it's the last in the series. The first one was good, after that the idea was played out. I'll never forget the bus scene in the original, totally awesome.
