5 seconds of old TV style interference. Has happened twice since I've been using it over the last 3 weeks. It only happens on the Mac OS side and only on one of my monitors. I'm going to reseat the leads in a bit to see if that stops it.

I had a look at my cables and found something strange. Attached to my main monitor I've got a apple DVI adapter. What confuses is that it's a DVI to DVI. I must have got this with the original 8800. Any idea why this would have been needed? Perhaps it's not needed anymore...

The DVI to DVI cable is included because some connectors does not fit properly to a video card at the back of a Mac Pro. They are too wide.

Ah! Good to know – that really had me stumped.

The snow thing happens with all cards on all 2009 MPs. It happens with my 4870 and it happens with other peoples GT120s. I think it's a driver or firmware issue deep in the system.

I've got a '08. So it's a driver issue that will be addressed with an update? If so I'm relieved it's not a faulty card.
