is there a way to install windows 7 rc on VMWare Fusion without burning the iso to DVD? perhaps using a USB drive?

As far as I know, VM software (Parallels, VirtualBox, and VMware) support mounting ISO images natively, as virtual optical devices. You don't even need a USB drive or anything like that. Check your favorite VM software's documentation for how to set up an ISO file as a disk.

Exactly as wrldwzrd89 said. You just point the CD Drive to the ISO image.

Follow this (http://blogs.vmware.com/teamfusion/2009/01/windows-7-on-mac-with-vmware-fusion-a-practical-guide.html) guide on how to install. You can have vmware fusion install directly off the .iso file.
