As far as I know, they're all paid apps. I really hope Apple implements this in a future update.

Anybody know what is the best value out of the paid apps. What happens if I have to restore, do I lose the paid app?

I love Tlert and in fact recommended it to someone here last week and noticed he was raving about it in another post :D It was priced at $1.99, but I noticed they had recently raised the price to $4.99. Still a good deal though, I love it!

Definitely Tlert! I think the price went up to $4.99 already though. I managed to grab it for $1.99 before it changed, and it's definitely been worth it.

It's free now... a little buggy with the latest OS versions, but it seems to work for the most part.

No, appstore keeps tracks of all the purchases you made and when you will click buy it will show you have already purchased and can install it for free.

Bite the bullet, BiteSMS is the best I've used so far. It's free, but you have ad's, a one time payment of 6 or 7 bucks and the ads are gone for good.

The ads in bitesms are very easy to ignore if you really don't want to pay. Use it and don't look back.

+1 and the ads are only when you open the full app not in the quick compose/quick reply mode

Pay for Bite and be happy. It's a great app, the first thing I put back on after I jailbreak a new phone.

GRiP was the best by far (and free) since it handled all of your other notifications as well. Unfortunately it's no longer under development, and will crash your iPhone if you attempt to install it.
I use Tlert now, and absolutely love it.

This reminds me of a thought I had recently. If/when I upgrade to a new iPhone, will I have to buy all these jailbreak apps again or is it tied to the email account I used with Cydia?

It's tied to the email account. I've gone through too many warranty exchanged iphones to count, and I never had an issue with the licenses
