Hi all,
UT 2003 installer quits after entering the CD key. Per MacSoft's support, I downloaded an installer update file (unreal-installer2.dmg.sit) but when double clicked it just opens in a window of codes and nothing else happens. Anyone knows a solution?
TIA.
Sam

By all means... SKIP 2003 AND GET 2004 - Its superior to 2003 in everything.

Actually, I do have the UT2004 and in the past had been discouraged of playing it since my iMac G5 wouldn't play it well. I did install and played on my new Mac Pro quad core with Radeon 4870 512 mb and the graphics are awesome. I still have to learn how to play it online since I I've really enjoyed playing the UT2003 on the internet.

UT2004 runs on the optimized Unreal Engine 2 (some call it UE2.5), so it runs better than 2003 on the same hardware. Tested by myself to confirme it, as I had a very slow Mac at the time to play them.

Thanks. Is it me or does playing UT 03 feels more real vs. playing UT 04? the movements are much smoother in 04 almost too smooth and fluid ??
BTW, are they releasing a new version anytime soon?

What would you recomend:
UT 2004 or UT 3?
Is there much difference, and do both have large online comunities?

I do prefer UT 03 but it may be because I am used to playing it.

UT04 and UT03 have the same moving system iirc.
No new UT is going to be released anytime soon

They are very different.. and both are extremely good games (all UT games are except for UT2003). Try both.

I still haven't been able to install the UT 2003, the patch file doesn't work or open up to help with the installation. Anyone with any suggestion would be greatly appreciated.

I don't get how it didn't run good on your comp considering it runs fine on my PowerBook.

The UT 2004 didn't run well on my iMac G5 2.1 GHz, 1.5 MB RAM, UT 2003 had no trouble on the same machine...now back to my question: how is the installation patch file supposed to work? when clicked it opens a window and just gives long list of codes. I still want to play the UT 2003 (which I prefer) on my new Mac Pro but I am unable to install.
TIA.
