You can access the app's files in /private/var/Mobile/Applications/xxxxxxxxxx, where xxxxxxxxxx is the random alphanumeric string that represents IM+. I believe there's a Library or Resource folder in there with the raw audio files that you can swap out.

Thanks for this... I was able to locate the IM+ folder - a little tip - look in the folders around the date you installed IM+ (IE for me it was 4 days ago so it was one of the numbered folders created on Jul 15th.

Then inside the #'d folder go into the IMPLusFull.app folder - inside there are the 3 tone files:

alert.aif
direct.aif
timeline.aif

The alert.aif is the main tone - Thank god that is gone!!! What a horrible tone and so distorted!

Thanks again!

ok I got this workin with the yahoo sound if anybody wants it

heres the instructions

first you need the app called iFile

second download the free yahoo messenger app

now open iFile

& go to /private/var/Mobile/Applications/xxxxxxxxxx, where xxxxxxxxxx is the random alphanumeric string that represents yahoo messenger

find the .aif file called "receive messages.aif" in yahoo messenger

click on edit selct the file and click COPY

now go back to applications and find the IM+ stringcode

/private/var/Mobile/Applications/xxxxxxxxxx, where xxxxxxxxxx is the random alphanumeric string that represents IM+

when you get in find the file called alert.aif & delete it

now click on edit & hit PASTE, the "receive messages.aif" file will appear

now click on the file "receive messages.aif" & change the name to alert.aif

and thats it, you wont hear that annoying IM+ sound now you will hear the receive message sound from yahoo, you will hear it with push & when you get a message while the app is open or close

:)

it was really easy to do with iFILE

now delete the yahoo messenger app if you dont want to keep it

All fine, other than the 'receive messages.aif' is nowhere to be found in the Yahoo app.

Yahoo has a new update they might have change the name

just play all the .aif files inside the yahoo app , you can do that with ifile.

There's only a few aif files. And use the sound you like
