Odds are you probably have a lot more than Safari and iTunes open. Is iTunes playing music? Are you watching YouTube videos or something? These can all contribute.

A big thing is screen brightness. The difference between having your laptop at full brightness and close to dark can make a huge difference. Try keeping the brightness as low as comfortably possible so you can maximize battery life.

Try downloading Coconut battery or battery health monitor. This will provide info on your battery capacity and health

Something aint right.

Thankyou very much for your input:cool:

Open Activity Monitor, see if anything is using up a lot of CPU in the background.
Make sure you don't have any login items that are set to hide themselves.
Try recalibrating your battery.

Okay. For CPU:

Safari - No More than 50.0

Activity Monitor - No More Than 5.0

Everything else is usually less than 5.0

I've already re-calibrated my battery.

If Safari is running Flash apps/video, that's why.

50% CPU being used is fairly significant in terms of battery life/usage.

No, that's max. Most of the time it's around 15%.

No, that's max. Most of the time it's around 15%.

Safari, FF, and iTunes are currently idling on my machine right now, taking up a combined 8% of the CPU. You must be doing something within those programs that is sucking battery life.
