First app to allow attachments, message receipts and possibly Now Typing notification will win.

That's all everyone is missing. Other than that, I like the way you handle PIN's better than all the other BBM like apps out there.

Attachments are pretty straight forward, but message receipts shouldn't be too complicated. When someone reads a message you have their phone ping your servers to let them know it's been read. Once read if the sender opens their app the text bubble could just change to a different color to let the sender know it's been received. For example...

I send my message to Bob. The bubble shows up on my screen Yellow as the message is sent to your servers. Bob gets a popup message via push. When he opens his app to read the message, his phone pings your server to notify it's been read. Then, if I have my app still open (or the next time I open it) the bubble on my screen will turn Green. This would let me know they have already read the message and that it didn't get lost somewhere. :D

It'd be very useful. Other than this, attachments are the next big thing. I understand forgoeing it for bandwidth concerns though, but if your servers can handle it, image attachments would be nice!

The next version of Messi.im will have all of this:
* Video, picture, location messaging.
* Read receipts

It's now in review with Apple, should be out soon.

I like pMessenger quite a bit as far as usability but the UI is just horrendous. It needs to be a little cleaner/simpler but its the one my friends and I have stuck with. Having a free version was a HUGE plus. After trying it out, some of us ended up upgrading to the paid version and it was definitely useful when I went overseas for a couple of weeks (worked on JB & unlocked w/ Orange UK SIM).

Once you can connect to BB users, it will be great.

Hey this app looks great. Even though I am fan of another BBM like app, I will have to give this a try.

Thanks

I can't wait for this one to be released, looking forward to it. BBM was my addiction on my old curve.
