so i have one song in particular that is really hard to find, but it's one of my favorites and even though it plays well enough i can't hear it, i have to crank up the volume on my laptop or anything that's playing a CD with it just to hear it at a normal volume. and then if you listen to it all the way through and it changes tracks before you bring the sound down the next song blows out your ear drums. is there a way to change the songs play volume or something so it's not such a drastic difference with other songs?

Select the Song, open "Get Info" and on one of the tabs is a volume adjustment, simply raise the volume. Then click OK. Done.

In iTunes, you can Cmd-I the song to show info, then adjust the volume on the Options tab.
