My New 3GS isnt recognising my contacts ringtones! It just playing default ringtone

I have about 4/5 contacts with personal ringtones & it just isnt working!

Any help about how to fix this?

I cant remember if it worked when i first got it as i had a lot of trouble when i was changing my number & it wasnt active for about a week!

You could try deleting the ringtones from the contacts and then adding them back. If that doesn't help, then delete the ringtones alltogether, and then resync and then add back to your contacts.

Is it properly displaying their name and the number type (e.g. mobile, home, work)?

Try adding country/area code to the number to see if that changes things. e.g. if from a home phone you have to dial 0310 597 3781 to reach your friend, try editing the number in the contact on the mobile phone to include the 0

If that's already how your contacts are, try removing it.
