Hi! I'm looking for the Firmware ROM from an unmodified :apple: OEM Apple ATI X1900 XT 512MB that came from Apple w/ your 2006/2007 Mac Pro 1,1 or as an Apple Store upgrade??? If this matches your setup I need your ATI video card BIOS/firmware!!!

Background:
I need to unbrick my OEM Apple ATI X1900 XT 512MB from my Mac Pro 1,1 3.0GHz BTO. I've already upgraded to the XFX ATI HD4870 1GB using the atiflash firmware update method also on this forum. However, in doing my flash of the 4870 I mistakenly used the PCIe ID of the Apple X1900 XT during the flash process and killed the OEM Apple firmware. I thought I had backed up both BIOS/firmware ROMs from both cards, but evidently I didn't.

So, if you guys have the OEM Apple ATI X1900 XT 512MB Firmware/BIOS ROM from an unmodified card w/ the factory Apple firmware I'd love some help getting the ROM file from you!!

Thanks in advance for your help/reply!! :)

I think I have one of those cards sitting around. Not sure how I would get firmware out of it however.

UPDATE: OEM Apple Firmware FOUND!

Thanks, pprior, for your reply. :) I also fished this out to a few old Apple colleagues who were able to send me the firmware in the last 24 hours. I've successfully unbricked my card and can now at least benchmark and do the work I need while still having my rockin' XFX HD-4870 for the other fun stuff.

If anyone should require this firmware in the future just reply here or PM me. I'm keeping an archive of the firmware v140 and v202 from :apple:Apple.

Regards,

M@

I am glad that you found the drivers. I too have been looking for them for awhile. Could you possibly send the drivers to me?

The firmware can be found in an X1900XT firmware update from Apple. Once you've installed the utility (it goes in the utilities folder), it's in the package Contents/Resources/ATIFacelessFlash/Contents/Resources/R580Alopias_1.202_EBC.ROM

So to copy the rom from the firmware ,flash the rom to pc's x1900xt,then the x1900 xt card can work on mac pro.
because I don't have a mac pro.
could anyone pm the "R580Alopias_1.202_EBC.ROM" for me?
Thank you.
