word hates me?

i'm using word x to put the finishing touches on an assignment but it won't let me copy and paste anything.
why? "there is insufficient memory, save the document now." it is large for a word document, about 2MB but really?
i've restarted and closed everything but word but that didn't help at all.
the computer: rev c 12" powerbook
help?

How much RAM do you have? How about available HD space?

512 MB ram, 33 gig available
there is no reason i can see that it should be messing me around like this, teaches me to leave things to the last minute...again.

If you have the time, you could try uninstalling and reinstalling word. Could be a corrupt file somewhere.

If worst comes to worst, finish it in TextEdit.

looks like i found it after all.
i overlooked quicksilver before, cleared the clipboard and everything seems fine again.
