I was just wondering why that when I accidentally drag a song onto my iPod, a song which I already had on it, is doesn't tell me?

I manually sync my iPod, and sometimes, I might be in a jam - and I try to put my latest downloads on it. But I may have put some songs on before that I forgot.

Is it the same song from the same album and artist?

For me it doesn't warn, it just doesn't copy it. However if it is the same song but from a different album, like a complilation etc,,, it will copy it over, because the tagging is different.

Also what version of itunes are you using, have you updated to the newest firmware on the ipod?

Hmmm...well it is the same song title, same artist, same album but "Composer" info and "Genre" are different. Oh and I am 8.2.1.

I guess it's user error then. I ripped an album from iTunes but I had one of the album's songs on my iTunes before (which apparently has slightly different tag).

Thanks for clearing my confusion!
