This is the pre-order sale, it is not like the UK customers will get copies of the windows 7 early.

The sale is already available in the US.

Also technically it will be Windows 7 E which means no upgrade install but rather and full system install

The early release comes just days after Google announced it would be launching a rival operating system Google Chrome OS.

This pre-order sale has been planned long before Google's annoucment.

As much as Redmond loves their UK cousins . . . there's no way they'll ever get a release before the US market . . . well, at least not until the US gets Top Gear episodes on BBCA before they do . . . ;)
