same here... im a iphone noob and thought that was the issue :)

Before 3.0, it was called SMS, therefore SMS themes
After 3.0, it's called Messages

Most of the old SMS themes are NOT UPDATED to reflect Messages instead of SMS, that's why they don't work !

The authors need to update them, or you can use SSH and mod the Messages bubbles yourself.
