and ignore the duplicates? I am probably missing something easy, and an archive search reveals solutions to more difficult probs. All I want to do is add all songs in a folder on my desktop into iTunes. there are 6,000 songs, some of which are duplicates. How do I get iTunes to ignore the duplicates and only i mport the new songs?

You might be able to do it, but it wouldn't be that hard to import everything and delete the duplicates.

if all those duplicate songs have identical info of artist, album blah blah, it wd prompt u by itself.
