anyone who might be interested in some form of accidental damage coverage from a warranty or insurance may want to check out www.squaretrade.com especially if you purchased within the last 30 days

Understand this with SquareTrade (I was looking into it myself for a while)
1. Does not cover theft
2. Will only cover up to $399 (16gb) and $499 (32gb)
2a. This means that if you bought your phone for 32gb for $299 and had to get it replaced through squaretrade for accidental damage, they would reimburse you $499. Subtract the $50 deductible, and the $115/2year insurance rate, they are actually paying you $335 through insurance. Combine this with the fact that you have to pay $699 to get a new phone (usually, unless apple/att agrees to make you sign another 2year contract for $499, which is not guaranteed by any means). This means you actually have to pay a total of $365 for a replacement iPhone.
3. I believe it is possible for you to insure the phone for $599/$699 but only if you purchased it for those prices (since they require a proof of purchase)

I've personally used SquareTrade twice... Once for normal coverage and once for accidental, and they are great. The reimbursement process was quick and painless. I only get SquareTrade warranties these days.

I may be wrong but to me for those who want/need some sort of AD coverage something is better than nothing even if it does not pay the full amount of the Iphone especially given att offers NADA

You CANNOT cover it for full value. $399/$499 is max no matter what you paid for it. Considering Apple will charge you only $199 for "broken/drowned"
replacement as long as you are under warranty Squaretrade is a VERY poor value. They USED to cover you for full replacement value but that changed recently.

it does allow you to cover 599/699 price points you just pay more, i actually picked up 2yr for my new iphone, i dropped my bestbuy warranty.. its $94.06 for 2yrs they gave me 30% off.
i asked them the other day, they will cover the 599/699 even if you only paid 199/299 you have to ask for the full retail plan

I have one very good experience with squaretrade they replaced a cheap china jphone for me before I got the real deal. It was still under manufactures warranty but I couldn't get a hold of the company Squaretrade replaced the value of the phone even though they didn't have too. but the 599/699 coverage still concerns unless I have it in writing.
