Transfer Canon hard drive footage to MiniDV cam?

A friend has some Hi-def video recorded on his Canon hard drive camcorder, that I would like to use in Final Cut Express. Can I connect his camera to my Canon Hi-def HV20 mini DV camera to capture the video?
